Perched at one of coastal North County’s highest points, San Elijo Hills is roughly 30 miles north of San Diego and minutes from Carlsbad. The community is known for ocean views, an inviting town center, a 19-acre park, well-regarded schools, and a walkable mix of shops and services.
Eighteen miles of trails and the 200-acre Double Peak Park create room to get outside, while nearby beaches, golf, colleges, and commuting routes keep daily life connected. Its careful design and preserved open space give San Elijo Hills a distinct sense of place.
The hills have a story that reaches back well before today’s neighborhoods. Farming and ranching shaped this land in the early 1900s, and the community still carries that close-to-the-land character in its trails, open space, and gathering places.
